Become a foster
A room in your house, and a dog who needs it.
POMDR has no shelter, so every dog waits in a foster home. We provide the crate, bed, supplies as available and every bit of vet care. You provide the couch and the love, until the right adopter comes along.
Before you begin
This takes about fifteen minutes. You can stop part way through and come back to it.
What to have with you:
- Under "First choice", pick Foster Care if it is not already chosen
- Rough days and times you are usually home
- Your landlord's name and number if you rent
- Two people who can vouch for you, with their phone numbers
The second half of the form asks about your home, your yard and any pets you have, so we can match you with a dog who will settle in. Every foster gets a manual, training, an emergency number and a mentor.

Our volunteer coordinator gets in touch to talk through what you are hoping for and answer any questions.

Training, a manual and a mentor
You will receive a foster manual, training, an emergency contact number, and ongoing support from a foster mentor assigned to work directly with you.
