The Patricia J. Bauer Center in Pacific Grove is the home of Peace of Mind Dog Rescue: our office and our adoption center, where staff, volunteers and visiting families come together to help senior dogs find their people.

The Bauer Center is more than an office. It is where adoptions begin, where volunteers gather, and where the day-to-day work of caring for our dogs gets done.

Adoption center
Come spend time with our dogs and talk with the people who know them best. We take adoptions slowly and thoughtfully, so every match is the right one.

The staff who keep the rescue running work from the Bauer Center. It is the first point of contact for adopters, fosters and supporters.

Volunteers check in here before walks, events and shifts. If you want to get involved, this is where it starts.

Helping Paw, fostering and donor support are all coordinated from here, keeping senior dogs and senior people connected.
A home with a history.
The Bauer Center house was generously donated to POMDR by Patricia J. Bauer in September 2011, a legacy gift to help more dogs left behind. Our front room, Mattie's Playroom, is named for her playful Schnauzer, and the garden, Morgan's Memorial Garden, for her poodle mix.
